A chart wheel is a view of the real sky from above. In Saliastro you can unfold it into three dimensions: Earth at the centre, the zodiac belt around it, a ray from Earth through every planet to its sign and degree, and the AC and MC axes — the horizon and meridian of your birthplace. It makes clear why Mars is “in Leo” and what “retrograde” means.
Seeing your own natal chart in 3D needs no account — just your date, time and place of birth.
How to read a birth chart
A chart is a circle of the twelve zodiac signs. Inside are twelve houses — areas of life, from “yourself” (1st house) through money, communication, home, love, work and partnership to the hidden and rest (12th house). Planets sit in signs (how an energy shows up) and in houses (where). Lines between them are aspects: harmonious ones help, tense ones push you to grow.
Start with three points: the Sun — your core and what you live for; the Moon — your feelings and what gives you peace; the Ascendant — how you meet the world and how others see you.
- Sun sign — character and life purpose
- Moon sign — emotions, habits, what you need to be happy
- Ascendant — appearance, first impression, style
- Venus — how you love and what you value
- Mars — how you act and go after things
- Saturn — where you need discipline and become a master
Frequently asked questions
What is a birth chart?
A birth (natal) chart is a snapshot of the sky at the moment and place you were born: where the Sun, Moon and planets were, in which signs and houses, and which angles they formed. Astrologers read it to describe character, talents and tendencies, and follow the planets’ movement against it to time periods of life.
Can I get my birth chart for free?
Yes. The 3D birth chart is free and needs no account: planets in signs and houses, Ascendant and Midheaven. After a free sign-up you also get the full chart wheel in Pro mode. The plain-language reading is part of the Plus plan.
What if I don’t know my birth time?
The chart still works: planets in signs, aspects and the calendar. Without a time the houses and the Ascendant can’t be calculated, and the Moon may be in the neighbouring sign. Chart rectification (VIP) helps find the exact time.
How accurate is it?
Planet positions match the Swiss Ephemeris to the arcsecond; Chiron comes from NASA JPL tables. Houses are Placidus by default, with Koch, Porphyry, Equal and Whole Sign available. Time zones and daylight saving on your birth date are handled automatically.
How is Saliastro different from other birth chart sites?
Your chart doesn’t stop at a reading: it drives your personal calendar — scores for love, money, work and new starts every day, the best hours and transits with hints of likely events. All in plain language, and you can even see your chart in 3D.
